Some tools would be useful with classes

1.VoiceThread
One of the best ways to enhance student learning, boost student achievement, and improve student engagement is to incorporate digital storytelling as an instructional strategy.

Students can demonstrate their knowledge of content, develop higher order thinking skills, improve their digital literacy skills, and harness the power of visual literacy in digital storytelling projects. VoiceThread is a web-based, interactive digital storytelling environment FREE for educators that is being used effectively around the world to safely publish student work on the global stage of the Internet, as well as PRIVATELY share student work with families as well as partner classrooms located in other states or countries.

    *Features*

  • Users can create and share multimedia presentations

  • Other users can add content and comments to the presentations

  • Allows for a collaborative multimedia presentation to be created by a group of people in differing locations

  • The Voicethread editor is very easy to use

  • Comments can be added using any of 5 different methods
It can even be embedded to show and receive comments on other websites and exported to MP3 players or DVDs to play as archival movies.

2.POWER POINT

Why PowerPoint? (or any slide show application?)

  • Addresses multiple intelligences by using color, images, shapes, sound, music, video (multimedia) etc. to reinforce the important points.

  • Students can see, hear, or “feel” the concepts etc.

  • As an interactive tool. (Group or class games to practice or review concepts, i.e. Jeopardy, Millionaire, etc.)

  • When students share ideas and learning with PowerPoint, they are often more interested in a quality product.

  • Ways PowerPoint could be used for students to show what they have learned:

  • creating on-line presentations of directions or procedures (build effects)

  • visual display of comparison studies

  • present charted data collected from spreadsheets

  • creating games with immediate feedback through hyperlinks

    *Features*

    Useful PowerPoint Techniques:
    • Stagger revelations of one idea or statement at a time, or a list (use animation scheme)
    • Run a slide show as students arrive
    • Capture screens from other applications
    • Link to a web site
    • Insert a video clip

  • What I learn about e-learning and CALL

I learned many useful tools which I never used before,it include audio and video tools. For example,POCAST and RSS are the most impressive tools for me,as I study in English Department, I have to research many beneficial and useful tools to learn English, furthermore,I think we also can provide these kind of tools with some remote school or some student without abundant resources.
In the other hand, I learned some tools about creating something by myself to demonstrate my learning achievement and even increase the motivation for me to learn further. For example, I can make a SLIDESHARE to show something I'm interesting in or my learning projects,I think this is a goood way on learning.About the BLOGS, I ues something new in this class,WIKI and BLOGGER, I could use those of blogs to prepare my future on finding jobs, of course, demonstrating what I learn.

    ICT tools share

    1.YouTube
I think this is a very useful and commom website for every generations to get any kind of information, for example, you can learn how to play the guitar or even learn how to use softwares.
    2.Podcast
It allows individuals to publish (podcast) radioshows, that interested listeners can subscribe to. Before podcasting you could of course record a radio show and put it on your website, but now people can automatically receive new shows, without having to go to a specific site and download it from there.
    3.MindMap
It a diagram used to represent words, ideas, tasks, or other items linked to and arranged around a central key word or idea,it used to generate, visualize, structure, and classify ideas, and as an aid in study, organization, problem solving, decision making, and writing. So I think it also a good way to structure how to teach and make teaching become more organized!
    4.SongSmith
It generates musical accompaniment to match a singer’s voice. Just choose a musical style, sing into your PC’s microphone, and Songsmith will create backing music for you.
    5.SlideShare
SlideShare lets anyone share presentations and also serves as a social discovery platform for users to find relevant content and connect with other members who share similar interests.
    6.VoiceThread
It is a collaborative, multimedia slide show that holds images, documents, and videos and allows people to navigate pages and leave comments in 5 ways - using voice, text, audio file, or video.
It is a web-based, interactive digital storytelling environment free for educators that is being used effectively around the world to safely publish student work on the global stage of the Internet, as well as PRIVATELY share student work with families as well as partner classrooms located in other states or countries.

    Excellent Website

    http://www.starfall.com/n/level-a/learn-to-read/load.htm?f
